Here's a video of last week's Franklin outing, showing two of my roommates and my landlord/lady. From left to right, you've got Randy and Laurie (houseparents), Chris (roommate teaching 4th grade), and Lee in the back (roommate, the new town administrator).

2010-11 league of zors draft order and divisions
not nearly as cool as last year's videos, but the only way to make sure balls doesn't cheat is to make sure i'm there, and i'm in nc now. so, here's my quick efforts.

song - untitled (2)
it's been a while since i've seen the bottom
that doesn't stop the last few drops
those last few sweet, sweet drinks
from tasting as good as before
all the while the bottom's leering
straighten up you love sick weakling
did you not expect such deep regret
this emptiness after years of drunken bliss?
so obvious, you drink 'till it's gone
so why all of this confusion, my eyes on
the glass where i spent those last years of my life
and i sit alone
i thirst again for your touch
this parched heart needs a drink
all i do is think about
the time we had together
but now my glass is empty
bottle broken, broken hearted
wondering how i could ever drink again.
that doesn't stop the last few drops
those last few sweet, sweet drinks
from tasting as good as before
all the while the bottom's leering
straighten up you love sick weakling
did you not expect such deep regret
this emptiness after years of drunken bliss?
so obvious, you drink 'till it's gone
so why all of this confusion, my eyes on
the glass where i spent those last years of my life
and i sit alone
i thirst again for your touch
this parched heart needs a drink
all i do is think about

but now my glass is empty
bottle broken, broken hearted
wondering how i could ever drink again.

song - untitled
alright, here are a bunch of lyrics for a song about joy. let me know what you think, what goes where, what should be gotten the frizzick rid of, etc.
don't let me lose this joy
when you ask me to dance
i never was one for dancing
but when you ask, how can i say no?
eyes close, my hand in yours
i can't breathe
i can't speak
i just dance
joy taken over, you lead me to simplicity
too bright to have seen earlier
but now i've heard enough to know i'm deaf
i've learned enough to know nothing more at all
and i let you lead
this dance of ours
'til the music stops
chorus (maybe)
just a sip of your joy
and i'm beside myself
just a glace up above
and i'm free
just a wiggle, just a breath,
just a simple thought of you
and i'm gone
(now for some segments)
a) that song was right
there's nothing gonna take my joy
you could bind me blind me
still you'll find me
dancin'
my arms are raised
singing songs of praise
my eyes are shut
a smile's on my face
i'm so amazed
just one thing to say
i love ya love ya love ya love ya
b) i wiggle my toes
and take a deep breath
and move my arms
and shout real loud
i'm alive! i'm alive!
what more could i ask for?
c) each breath i take
i know you give
knowing full well i won't do
much good with it
d) my thoughts drift
but i think
and so i am
and if i am
then you are
and that's good
and i'm good
for you're good
and i'm yours
and so the joy returns
e) can't ask for more than this
a breath, a life, this joy tonight
it might be cold
i might be worn
but no matter
for i am i
and that i's alive
and he's gonna use his life
to strive to seek to find
to die to all that i abide
until the sin subsides
the guise of good inside
decide tonight
that i with you can
fly!
by no means do a-e need to stay like they are, they could be combined, left out, anything. let me know which parts of which parts sound okay, and what the chorus should be, and any other thoughts whatsoever. coo.

song - asleep in Your arms
soundly sleeping
breathing slowly
thoughts are quiet
body still
all until i'll
wake up wanting
knowing trying
doing dying
so let me sleep
please let me sleep
for in Your arms
this peace i keep
breathing slowly
thoughts are quiet
body still
all until i'll
wake up wanting
knowing trying
doing dying
so let me sleep
please let me sleep
for in Your arms
this peace i keep

song - death of wonder?
you wrote this song by writing me
the author of our universe
with words so glorious, with words so free
divine, inspired every verse
and yet we try with every breath
to fathom all that you have done
but how describe we life and death
and joy found only in your son?
chorus
hallelujah! hallelujah!
glory be the God most high!
unexplainable, but yet obtainable
thy love, which knowledge, death defies
and what of knowledge, what of the wise?
who the secrets of this earth attempt describe?
And what of the death of wonder that trails each step-
is biting apples worth open eyes?
and so we try with every breath
to lift the veil of thoughts divine.
but if this knowledge replaces love for thee,
then with these words I now resign.

song - untitled (blues)
am i walking? am i running?
could it be the world's just spinning
and i'm sitting going nowhere
thinking somewhere's on its way?
either way i'm looking downward
planted eyes upon the world of me
scared to look up and see another
so far from where He wants me to be
chorus
so many signs but so few directions
and here i thought my best was good enough
'my best' i say as though i knew a thing about it
'good' as if discerning weren't all that tough
so now my world has gone to pieces
what to say? what to do? how to be?
the more i search the less i find
i keep knocking, seems i've been left behind
chorus
give me a hint of my salvation
whisper to me that i've been spoken for
calm these waves i've made by rocking
hold me close safe on your shore
could it be the world's just spinning
and i'm sitting going nowhere
thinking somewhere's on its way?
either way i'm looking downward
planted eyes upon the world of me
scared to look up and see another
so far from where He wants me to be

poem - untitled
again i drink the blood again
the remedy my sin doth need
to live far greater than before
as ruler i, its home, doth heed
the drink runs deep, through deed and word
and though my heart ought not adore
its pleasant sting, it cannot choose
instead with death a close rapport
it seems it’s i who must decide
in such a way to live refuse
and so i cut, the sin flows free
but lives, my drear pretense its ruse
so if not i, if not my heart
to rid this life of misery
of selfishness, regret, then who?
its grasp my life alone can’t flee
again the blood drinks me again
regardless that which hitherto
hath reigned, ‘tis He who sweetly forms
a beautiful creation ‘new’
the remedy my sin doth need
to live far greater than before
as ruler i, its home, doth heed
the drink runs deep, through deed and word
and though my heart ought not adore
its pleasant sting, it cannot choose

it seems it’s i who must decide

song - give
what joy is this
when i stand, behold your beauty
in this bliss
soaked in showers of grace
i give to thee
that which you've first given to me
this love i have for you
i can't express, no tongue confess
and at my best
your simple law of love i still fall through
chorus
so i lift my hands
these hands of guilt of hate of shame
this pain i feel when i fall short again again
this life you made for me but strife and emptyness i find
when without you i live...
so accept this gift
from this spirit poor and broken
be pleased and blessed
when you so high in heaven
see your child on his knees
needing your love, hands high above
unworthy of
this grace divine we find only in thee
chorus
so i lift my hands for this to you is all i have to give
when i stand, behold your beauty
in this bliss
soaked in showers of grace
i give to thee
that which you've first given to me
this love i have for you

song - prayer song
i give my life to you
when the world says hold on i will let go
and lord i pray that if i wander away
you'll run to lead me home
chorus
i give you my heart
i charge it to you
i give you my mind
i'm hoping that you will hold it near
that you'll quell all these fears
that keep me from living for you
and this life i live in the flesh
i live by faith in the son of god
who came and gave his life that day
so that one day with him i'd sing
chorus
if the birds sing aloud their tune
the flowers sway and the clouds roll by
it seems out of theme for me
to deny my lips the chance to sing
written by niky
